Isn’t it like that all the time, you see the perfect designer piece and with that a million copies which look just like that. When is a Lookalike a fake and it is okay to wear even the cheap copy, rather than buying the expensive designer piece every single time?
Ever since we have our blog and our Fashion Management Studies, I started to look at fashion differently than before. I know all the new collections from the high brand designers and I always notice right away when some fashion brands like Zara, H&M and co. try to copy the latest trends.
Of course, they all get inspired by the most famous designers on the runways. So you see, for example, the classic Ballerina slippers by Miu Miu in the current Zara Ballet collection or the popular lace dress from Self-Portrait as a copy at H&M Trend. Speaking of Self Portrait – in my present post I wear the original dress and I must confess I had to think twice before buying the dress.
But I think the more special the piece is the more money you should invest. Because a copy always stays a copy and will never be as good as the original. Since the self-portrait dress is an eye-catcher and you do not need to add much to that, it was important to me not to miss out on the quality of the dress.

Genau die Farbe hätte ich auch gerne. Toll schaust du aus! Ich persönlich habe die weiße Lookalike Variante von H&M… Da es aber nicht exakt gleich ausschaut bin ich auch sehr zufrieden mit meiner Wahl, vor allem da das Selfpotraitkleid im Sommer komplett ausverkauft war.. 🙂 Aber bei der neuen Farbe fange ich doch direkt wieder an zu überlegen 😉

Du Schönheit, mir stockt der Atem (keine Übertreibung, nur um das klarzustellen!). Das Kleid steht dir exorbitant gut und es sitzt einfach wie angegossen, als wäre es wie für dich gemacht. Mir fällt nur eins dazu ein: Haben will! Du hast es mit deiner Ausführung meiner Meinung nach auf den Punkt gebracht, wann es sich lohnt in das “echte” Designerteil zu investieren und wann es reicht ein ähnliches Produkt zu kaufen. Btw, herzlichen Glückwunsch zu deinem absolvierten Studium!
